Saki Stories

For school I along with my other classmates had to read two stories,The Interlopers and The Open Window both by Saki. Both stories were very similar with the flashbacks and characters. Both stories used flashbacks in the beginning of the story. The Interlopers used flashbacks when Saki told the readers about the family feud over the land for generations. "Out through that window, three years ago to a day, her husband and her two young brothers went off for their day's shooting." The Open Window used flashbacks when the niece was telling the story of her husband and two brothers went hunting but never coming home. Both stories had antagonist characters; The Open Window's antagonist character was Georg he was troublesome because instead of keeping off of illegal land he trespassed to go hunting. The Open Window's antagonist character was the niece because she was telling untrue stories to Framton about the window. Also both stories have ironic ending or unexpected endings. The Open Window had an unexpected ending because the husband and brothers came home when the niece said they were dead. The Interlopers  had an ironic ending because in the end the wolves came at the end of the story just as the two men made up.
